ASU Prep Digital
ASU Prep Digital is an accredited online high school where students can take a single course or enroll in a full-time, diploma-granting program. By embedding the university experience into high school, ASU Prep Digital puts students on an accelerated path toward university admission and careers of the future.
I was hired to serve as the social media manager for this brand, a role that did not exist before I started in 2018. Since then, I have taken sole ownership of the blog, manage all social accounts, and create and curate all social content with the help of our in-house design team.
I pride myself on maintaining our family-friendly, informative tone across all internal and external assets, including any emails, flyers, or other material I work on in addition to social and blog content. Below, you’ll find several examples of my work. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you’d like to see other examples or discuss the social strategy for the brand.
2020 Year in Review
Social Media
In order to feature content that aligns with our social strategy (but still fits within brand guidelines and looks good), I worked with one of our designers to create a more cohesive look for our Instagram grid. We now have set templates in place for certain content, including student/staff spotlights, deadlines/upcoming events, and #didyouknow posts. I create the content calendar knowing that I'll alternate between these different templates.
Instead of a generic 'Happy Halloween' static image, I created a meme using a shot from the popular Netflix series, Stranger Things.
As part of the content mix for social media, we feature students and staff. I reach out directly and ask for quotes and pictures that can be used for social use and, sometimes, as part of a longer spotlight on the blog.
Everyone loves a good Michael Scott meme. As a way to incorporate more 'fun' content, since our audience on Instagram is mainly teenagers, I created this image.
The National Day calendar is my best friend. When we're light on content, I'll choose fun or relevant days to celebrate on social. National Grammar Day was the perfect choice.
As part of our content mix on social, we answer questions that prospective students and their families may have about ASU Prep Digital or online learning in general. I reach out to staff for frequently asked questions or do independent research.
A fun static image sending students off for winter break.
It's no secret that cute fluff balls are easy content. We love getting to feature them on our social channels, and students/staff love sending photos in.
As part of our social strategy, I decided we should be more vocal in the mental health community as our audience is teens and their parents. This post is for World Mental Health Day.
